Maggie Zurcher and Becky McFarland

Maggie and Becky still have pretty smiles-outshined only by Maggie's beautiful daughters.

We hear the kids have more than just good looks; they have a great papa. Word on the street is Maggie married my old neighbor Jason Geissinger. Jason was nice enough to drive me to school every day, even when I had Little Orphan Annie hair, braces and glasses. He is seriously a nice guy. Way to go Maggie.

Kevin Walter's Album will be out Fall 2008!

Kevin Walter's music is rocking Colorado. The dude can play a guitar just like he's ringing a bell. The album name is Fishin for Answers. We hope he finds em'.

Who's on MySpace? Dawn Gordon is!

MySpace isn't that for kids? If that's what you're thinking, ask yourself who really wants to grow up? We did have great memories raisn' hell back in T-County! So what will you find on MySpace? Well, Dawn Gordon's kids look just like her and her boyfriend is a hot heart doctor.

Terry Nill's son is cute even when dad is scary! Truth is Terry is a hero. Really he is a paramedic and so is his wife! That's how he met her.

And Chris Rufner and his beautiful girlfriend know how to party in style during the holidays!

Saving Home

This blog is written as a tool (or example for you to write your own) to use to help our home. Please copy, paste and repost on your blog and into emails to your friends and family to help save Zoar and create jobs in Ohio.

***************
My name is Jamie and I love Ohio, my grandma and a little historic village named Zoar. Grandma Jeanne raised me to build community by volunteering. We even made apple butter and spun wool together in the village garden. Right now her house is flooded-the whole town is and a few other towns too.

Please help me to raise $250,000 to save jobs and historic buildings in my hometown. It is a beautiful place that looks like a Norman Rockwell painting. Unfortunately the walls are cracking and the flooded buildings are caving.
http://www. timesreporter. com/opinion/x1670185857

Beyond the first greenhouse in Ohio, amazing architecture and the history of co-ops (like REI and credit unions) in Zoar, these buildings have significant impact on Ohio tourism. Ohio needs every job and the HOPE of future jobs. Tourism funds jobs that can't be outsourced to another country, continent or planet.

When I visited villages in Africa, I saw first hand jobs created, when tourism brings outside dollars in and how it empowers communities. If you have even one friend living in Ohio, please send $1 to help this town.

Even though I'm a single mom, I am sending $100 to the Zoar Society. Please join me. For every $100 that is sent, I'll work hard to find $100 to match it.

Help Now:

1.) For matching funds, email me your pledge: jamiejchase@mac.com

2.) Mail your check to:
Zoar Village
198 Main Street
P.O. Box 404
Zoar, OH 44697

3.) Please also send an email to Ohio Senator Ron Amstutz
SD22@mailr.sen.state.oh.us
Ask him to join you in saving Zoar and to sponsor legislation that creates jobs by funding tourism promotions and historic preservation. Funding this is a strategic investment whose returns are seen from West Virginia to Nevada.

Thank you already for helping me to repay the lessons that my grandmother taught me. Not only do we build our community, but together we keep it strong.

With Hometown Love,

Jamie Chase (Graef)

New date, but we're still on!

Sorry for the delay. Who knew it would take so much work to throw a get together party, but it does. I can't say enough good things about what our old friends Rhonda Schlabach (Butts), Danielle Welch (Cramer) and Leslie Calanni (Vanicek) have done to make our class reunion possible.

So here's the deal of what we are on target for:

Saturday, August 9
What: A dinner that will cost apx. $50 a couple.

Please post comments. Let us know what you think about this.

Is this Karma Anderson?

Is it just me or does the girls in this Classmates.com advertisement look like Karma Anderson (far left) and Dawn Shear (far right)?Seriously, the similarity is startling! Did they use an old TVHS yearbook? Does someone from TVHS work at Classmates.com? If Dawn or Karma are out there, please confirm or deny that this is you. Your TVHS friends.

Memorial Day Weekend 08'

Here's the latest reunion scoop...About 20% of our TVHS 1993 classmates completed the online survey. It looks like you want the reunion to be Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26.

The survey will be kept up for a few more days. If you are not into Memorial Day or think a friend can't make it, get on that survey. It's not too late.

We've got a little mini democracy going. Take advantage of it.

When Vs.How Much

The TVHS 1993 party planners are ready to plan a party. Have you told them what you think?

So far the "Survey says…”

The date of the reunion is the biggest factor of whether you'll attend.

73% Time of year
18% Cost
9% Location

But when? Survey says… Memorial Day (May 2008) or Labor Day (Sept. 2008)

If you disagree, speak up. It’s not too late to take the survey and it’s better than complaining when some committee chooses a date you can’t make. Already taken it? Pass the link onto your 1993 TVHS friends.

And Bill Angione says he's bringing hot dog hats for everybody.
